Gallus! A GSFWC Worldcon Anthology

To celebrate Worldcon coming to Glasgow, our local (legendary) writers’ group, the Glasgow SF Writers’ Circle, decided to put out an anthology. So, we’re releasing the book at Worldcon in Glasgow next month! And because not everyone can make that, we’re doing a separate launch party at the end of August in Waterstones, Argyle St, Glasgow.

Check out the launch party here: https://www.waterstones.com/events/glasgow-science-fiction-writers-circle-celebrates-gallus/glasgow-argyle-street

Alongside the inestimable Neil Williamson and Brian M. Milton, I managed to wrangle myself a role as editor. It’s been such a pleasure to get to work with the writers we have. At all stages of a writing career, from debut publication to rising star to industry veteran, we have such an interesting representation – or snapshot – of what Circle writers are doing today.

Science fiction, fantasy, horror, weird… the gamut of speculative genre goes on a journey from Glasgow to the far reaches of space and back. Some stories are written entirely in local Scots, others in standard English. Some set in Glasgow, some in other worlds entirely!

A cover image of Gallus, a Glasgow SF Writers' Circle anthology. A woman with swirling cape and swirling red hair tickles a fish under the chin. Bubbles float upwards around her. She has bells for earrings and a seagull floats by her shoulder as the cape turns into a starry sky. She cradles a cherry blossom branch beneath her hand. Quote text includes "...lives up to its name with swagger and style" - Ken Macleod, and "A joy to read!" by Eliza Chan. Listed authors are Hal Duncan, Cameron Johnston, Annabel Campbell, Ruth EJ Booth, and many more..." edited by E.M. Faulds, Brian M. Milton, and Neil Williamson.
